Summary
MultiVersusoffers an exciting brawling opportunity that uses characters and worlds based on popular Warner Bros. franchises, including everything from Bugs Bunny to Arya Stark. The variety of intellectual properties means that some pretty interesting match-ups can take place, and the maps that the fights take place in can be just as creative. Of course, each stage doesn’t simply provide a colorful backdrop, but rather presents unique challenges and opportunities for players to keep track of during a battle.
After being available in open beta, and then having its servers shut down for nearly a year,MultiVersushas been released as a full game, although currently the number of maps is fairly limited. More maps have been announced, with the promise of new stages being added regularly as part of the game’s live-service component. Whether someone prefers the straightforward layout that maps such as Sky Arena provide, or a little more variety that the Tree Fort offers, there is a good deal of strategy required for any of the arenas.

MultiVersus Review: Back & Looking To Knock Out The Competition
MultiVersus is back with its full game launch, with many technical changes and updates that could help give it an edge against the competition.
10Throne Room: Beautiful & Has Descending Sections
Source: Game Of Thrones
The Throne Room is a fittingly majestic battle arena, based on the Great Hall fromGame of Thrones. It begins as a large, flat stage with walls on either side so players can simply fight without obstacles. Soon after starting the match, however, sections of the ground closest to the edges on the left and right will lower, providing pits to fall or throw opponents into.
Eventually, these sections of floor will rise again, and then lower again, as long as hazards are turned on. If hazards are off, then the sections will not return and the map will remain with two pits on either side of the map.The background music for The Throne Room also deserves mention, as its specialMultiVersusremix of theGame of Thrones’theme song is fantastic accompaniment for a fight.

9City Of Townsville: Comes With An Attacking Spaceship
Source: The Powerpuff Girls
The Powerpuff Girlscurrently are not available as characters, though they have beenleaked as potentialMultiVersusfighters, but the franchise is nonetheless represented with a fairly utilitarian map known as the City of Townsville. This map features a battle area taking place on the roof of Townsville’s Town Hall, with the mall, bank, and even Mojo Jojo’s lair in the background.
While players are fighting each other, a small spaceship shows up frequently to take some shots at the contenders. This ship appears to have Mojo Jojo silhouettedinside, and shoots out bombs that can be picked up and thrown by players, as well as some other hazards. Other than Mojo Jojo, the map layout is pretty much just the roof of the Townsville Hall, without anything extra, and no variations of the map.

8Cromulons: Looks Incredible & Provides A Good Mix
Source: Rick And Morty
The Cromulons stagefinds its origins in the “Get Schwifty” episode ofRick and Morty’s second season; which shows Rick and Morty singing on a stage due to the leader of the Cromulons, Armagheadon, requesting it. The floating heads in the background of the map are, in fact, the Cromulons themselves, watching over the battle taking place below.
Having such specific meaning behind the map makes it not widely recognizable, althoughthe map itself is still a fun battlefield. It has only the one version of the map, and is a fairly straightforward layout. The speakers on either side of the main stage can be destroyed, reducing the available area for fighting, and preventing the issue which arose in open beta of players getting trapped in the corners while being hit.

MultiVersus Branded “Greedy” By Upset Beta Players Following Full Launch
MultiVersus players are frustrated after discovering that most of the resources they gained during the beta haven’t carried over to the full launch.
7The Court: A Colorful Backdrop With Interactive Basketballs
Source: Space Jam
A neon-filled basketball court provides a fun stage for brawling onthe map titled simply The Court, which is based onSpace Jam. Whether playing as Bugs Bunny and LeBron James, or any of the other characters from theMultiVersusroster, the map includes basketballs and power-ups that can give unique effects. The layout is simply a flat area with breakable walls on either side, and two basketball hoops on either side of the arena.
Basketballs spawning in this map are the special focus, witheach ball being able to be picked up and thrown in the hoops on either side to give some extra points, or thrown at opponents to hurt them. Additional power-ups in The Court include a speed boost, jump boost, and a strength boost that will randomly appear.

6Trophy’s E.D.G.E. & Trophy’s E.D.G.E. 2: Timeless Designs
Source: MultiVersus Original Design
Trophy’s E.D.G.E. was originally thought to be a level based onWonder Woman’s Themyscirawhen it was first teased, but the final reveal showed it to instead be some type of trophy room with numerous WB properties represented. A giant warhorn fromGame of Thrones, Brainiac’s Bottled City of Kandor, even an ACME crate of fireworks are visible in the background of this interesting map.
There are two versions of this map, with the main difference being that Trophy’s E.D.G.E. 2 has a large pit between two sections of the main stage, while the other map does not. Two small floating platforms are present to the left and right of both maps.
5Dexter’s Laboratory: Offers Room For Strategic Planning
Source: Dexter’s Laboratory
Dexter’s Laboratory, from the television series of the same name, is the newest map to be added toMultiVersus. Unfortunately, early on, this map suffered some issues with players being disconnected when playing PvP in this arena, but those problems appear to be resolved, or at least improving. The stage features many Easter eggs in the background that reference parts of the show, and comes in two variations.
Dexter’s Laboratory 2 is a basic platforming level, with one flat central section and then four floating platforms that create three levels to jump between. Dexter’s Laboratory 1 is much more unique to the game, however, with moving sections of ground.Arrows point in the direction that the conveyor belts are traveling, and it is up to players to keep an eye on how close to the edge they might find themselves.
4Sky Arena: A Clean Background For A Straightforward Stage
Source: Steven Universe
Sky Arena is a beautiful battle map that isbased on the episode “Sworn to the Sword” from the second season ofSteven Universe. This showcases the location where the Gem Battles of the Rebellion happened, and is where Pearl trains Steven and Connie. As such, it is a very fitting location to holdMultiVersusbrawls, and offers two variations of the map for players to use.
The main Sky Arena level is simply a flat area with ledges on the left and right sides, without any additional hazards added, making it a perfect spot for training or teaching players. The Sky Arena map with platforms is very similar, but with two raised, floating platforms on the sides of the stage for players to jump onto. As an added bonus, the background music that is used in conjunction with this map is some of the best battle music in the game.

3Scooby’s Haunted Mansion: A Spooky Arena
Source: Scooby-Doo
As its name implies,Scooby’s Haunted Mansion is based off of any generic mansion that the team might come across inScooby-Doowith numerous portraits and other Easter eggs placed throughout to nod to the classic villains of the series. There are two iterations of the map, one where the mansion is in fairly good shape with a lit fire in the fireplace, and another where the roof is missing and several items are destroyed around the environment.
Both of the versions of the Scooby’s Haunted Mansion map have sections of floor that can drop out, causing players or their opponents to fall into bottomless pits if they are not careful. This map can turn into chaos in PvP matches, with many players attempting to use combos to bounce opponents off the walls and into pits.
How To Get Prestige Points In MultiVersus
Multiverse contains several different in-game currencies. Prestige Points are a major currency that can help players acquire exclusive items.
2Batcave: Classic Superhero Feel In This Incredible Map
Source: DC Comics
The Batcave is not only the most recognizable of stages, but is also one of the most enjoyable ones to battle in. Coming from the iconicBatman, this arena blends together several nods to different eras of the caped crusader’s history, including several costumes depicted in the background and two styles of Batmobile perched on raised platforms to the left and right. Theclassic look and iconography of Batman’s logo set into the centerof the main stage is just right for setting the tone of the room.
As long as hazards are not turned off, this map also includes several fun events spaced out just often enough to not be annoying, and add to the battle. The two large grates in the center can emit clouds of fog which can obscure vision and hide anyone who stands within, swarms of bats can fly up on either side who will cause some damage to fighters if they touch them, and the Batmobile platforms can be destroyed to be removed from the stage entirely.
1Tree Fort: Colorful & Offers Several Different Versions
Source: Adventure Time
The Tree Fort map isa whimsical and colorful stage based off of Finn and Jake’s home inAdventure Time, with a peek at The Ice Kingdom seen to the left of the screen. In contrast to many of the other maps, the Tree Fort has several variations, including a fairly simple one with one basic level to fight on, one that has two raised platforms to the left and right, and one with three levels. It can also take place during the day or night, offering different visual appearances to the landscape.
Despite the largest Tree Fort map posing a struggle for anyone trying to play the massive character, The Iron Giant, these maps are all beautifully designed and present many opportunities for different strategies to be applied in battles. The graphical style fits perfectly with the more cartoon-ish characters, and overall, this is the most impressive map inMultiVersusthat currently exists.
