Ben Stiller reveals his dream Severance project and it’s not what you’d expect
Mysterious and important work is underway onSeverance Season 3, and there’s a chance the show could be transformed into a franchise.
Severanceis Apple TV’s most-watched showever. It’s also one of the most acclaimed series of 2025, already earning a spot on our list of thebest TV showsof all time.
There’s just one problem: it takesagesto make. Season 2 (which was produced through the Hollywood strikes and other alleged behind-the-scenes issues) took nearly three years, and beyond the creators’ hopes that there won’t be a big gap before the third season, it’s unclear when we’ll return to Lumon.
Understandably, Stiller and co. are keeping all of their cards close to their chest regarding the future of Severance – but its world may be expanding.

In a new interview withVariety, Stiller and Adam Scott were asked about the possibility of Severance spinoffs and how the series could branch out into other media.
Stiller said it’d “be great to have a ‘Severance’ video game,” and Scott agreed: “I think it lends itself to one.”

The question is, what shape would a Severance game take? Fans have already created Macrodata Refinement simulators, so that approach is unlikely. Perhaps it’d be a creepy first-person game where you play a Lumon employee in another branch, forced to explore the severed floor and figure out a way to escape (it could even be inspired by The Stanley Parable).
Or, maybe, it’d be in the vein of Heavy Rain – and an adaptation ofthe Lexington Letter.

A Severance video game may never happen, but Stiller has other plans. “There are two specific ideas – that I won’t tell you – that we’ve talked about internally as possible spinoff ideas,” he teased.
As for what they’re about, don’t expect any details. “They are nascent,” he told the outlet in typically guarded fashion.
