Rushdown – new boss rush activity
Bungie’sThis Week in Destinypost detailed what players can expect from Rushdown, the new “bite-sized” boss rush activity debuting during the 2025 festivities.
The activity will launch Guardians intobattles against aseries ofbosses previously seen in campaigns, Exotic missions, and seasonal story content. The more boss encounters a player defeats, the more difficult the activity will become.
Every run will feature five encounters that users must complete within a time limit, though time will be added upon each boss completion. Earning rewards will prove as easy as finishing runs, and faster run times have a chance of rewarding even more drops or better loot.
Rushdown will boast three different difficulty modes – Warm-up as an “entry point,” Standard, and Expert. The latter two options promise the addition of revive tokens as well as experiences boasting powerful enemies with modifiers.
Standard matchmaking, class-based matchmaking, and private fireteams will mark the ways in which players can team up with fellow Guardians.
The quality of rewards earned will be determined by two separate criteria – boss encounters defeated and total score. Fast run times and a limited use of revive tokens will work wonders for those hoping to increase their score.
Overcoming three encounters in any mode will result in a guaranteed Guardian Games weapon drop for the run. The activity’s five score thresholds include bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond.
Achieving the higher thresholds in Standard and Expert will increase the user’s chance of receiving additional perks on Guardian Games weapon drops for that run. In Expert mode, reaching higher scores will come with the chance of earning fully Masterworked Guardian Games weapons with additional perks.
