Summary
FromSoftware’sBloodbornelaunchedin 2015 and was highly praised for showcasing what the then-new PlayStation 4 was capable of during players' exploration of a blood-drenched gothic world. Surprisingly,it has remained one of the few major PlayStation exclusives of that generation not to be ported elsewhere, despite fan demand for a “new-gen” patch for the current PS5 console and a PC release.
Recently,PC Gamerasked FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki if he would personally like to seeBloodbornecome to PC someday, considering other FromSoft titles such asDark SoulsandElden Ringare available on the platform. Miyazaki acknowledged the other FromSoft colleagues sitting alongside him, Yasuhiro Kitao, and interpreter Bobby Simpson, stating, “I know for a fact these guys want a Bloodborne PC port. If I say I want one, I’ll get in trouble as well. But it’s nothing I’m opposed to.” He then followed this up by saying that he’d “love more players to be able to enjoy it.”

Why Hasn’t Bloodborne Come To PC Yet?
The Decision Is Out Of FromSoft’s Hands
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s former president,Jim Ryan, stated in May 2022 thathalf of PlayStation’s first-party catalogcould be on PC by 2025. So far, the company has stuck true to this plan, with games from theGod of War,Uncharted,Horizon,The Last of Us, andMarvel’s Spider-Manseries all being added to the platform over the years. The acclaimed 2020 samurai epicGhost of Tsushimawas the most recent title to launch on PC in May 2024.
Therefore, it seemed inevitable thatBloodbornewould eventually come to PC, but alas, this has never materialized, leaving players expressing disappointment on several occasions after rumors had built up their hopes before various showcases or State of Play events. In an IGN interview, Miyazaki pointed out thatthis decision is out of FromSoft’s hands, as the company doesn’t own the IPand is not at liberty to speak about a port or a sequel.

Hopefully, Sony - who is most likely the company who can make the decision - will acknowledge the huge fan demand for a PC release ofBloodborneand will add it to its growing catalog of titles launching on the platform. For now, only time will tell, but FromSoft fans have plenty to look forward to as the award-winningElden Ring’sShadow of the Erdtreeexpansion launches this month across multiple devices, including PCs.
