Animal Well Review: “One of the Most Impressive Metroidvania Titles of Recent Years”
Animal Well is a fantastic 2D puzzle platformer, using the Metroidvania structure to create a mysterious world full of secrets to discover.
How To Beat The Seahorse Boss
Animal Wellis one of the most intriguing Metroidvaniasin recent years and takes a fresh approach, including with Boss fights. Once you have worked your way through to the final room, you will find several platforms, two cranks andthree fountains with bars in them that need filling.Every few seconds, the Seahorse will pop up to fire water at you. You will take damage if it directly hits you, but by standing on one side of any platform, it will be unable to take away any health.
While you don’t attack the Seahorse itself, you need to fill the three fountains to pass through to the next room.

The puzzle is very similar to one you will have faced on your way to meet the boss. Your aim is touse the cranks to deflect the waterthat the Seahorse is firing into the three fountains. The left and the middle fountains can be filled up by changing the angle of the left crank.
However, the right fountain is the trickiest, requiring you to use both cranks. You will need to have the Seahorse fire at the left one and then deflect the water using this onto the right crank and then into the fountain.

If you are struggling, change your position, as the angle the Seahorse will fire the water from also changes.
Once you have filled the yellow bars in all three fountains, the door to the right will open up, with the room containing a chest and the Bubble Wand. The Seahorse Boss is one of the easier bosses to beat inAnimal Wellwith a simple puzzle that can be completed quickly.
