Summary
I had completely forgotten that Justin Bieber was in an episode ofCSIand his role was even more significant than I remember. TheCSIuniverse has no shortage of fantastic characters, nor does the series shy away from introducing guest stars and celebrities in smaller roles to pad out the cast.CSIhas had numerous guest stars over 15 seasons, sometimes feeling as though every week offered the chance to see some new A-lister playing against type.
When I was much younger, I didn’t watch too muchCSI, I had to catch up long after it had aired. However, I clearly remember watching CBS in the afternoon or over the weekend andseeing the “This Week onCSI” commercial begin. I’d wait expectantly to see if I knew who this week’s cameo would be. Whether it would be a celebrity I was familiar with like Taylor Swift, or someone I was completely unaware of but now adore, like Jeffrey Tambor. When pop music sensation Justin Bieber appeared in that ad, I was taken aback.

Lil Dicky’s DAVE: 10 Famous Celebrities Who Appeared In Season 1
Lil Dicky’s DAVE is a critically acclaimed semi-biodrama series airing on FXX. Here are 10 famous celebs who appeared in the first season.
Justin Bieber Played Serial Bomber Jason McCann In CSI
Justin Bieber appears inCSIseason 11, episode 1, “Shock Waves” and season 11, episode 15, “Targets of Obsession”, as Jason McCann, a 17-year-old serial bomber. Jason and his older brother Alex are orphans who have a deep hatred for police and when a series of bombs go off, theCSIforensics teams track down Alex as the culprit, with Jason unable to be tied to the crime. Jason is removed from LVPD custody by his guardian, butin episode 15, when similar bombings occur and Jason’s guardian turns up dead, all signs point to Jason.
TheCSIteam tracks down Jason and his military-trained accomplice after Jason kills more people with his bombs. With his guilt all but proven, Jason decides to go out on his own terms and pulls a gun on the police, who are forced to return fire and kill the young man. Jason had murdered many people by this point, but it still feels wrong to celebrate a teenager’s death, especially one who seemed to have fallen victim to a foster care system that never really supported him or his brother.

I’ll be honest, when I first saw that Justin Bieber was going to be inCSI, I figured it would be one of thosecelebrity cameos that just feels totally out of place. However, in retrospect, the young man did a pretty impressive job with his time on the show. He never felt phony or above the material and his willingness to play against his cultivated, teen heartthrob personality was admirable for such a young celebrity.
This was Justin Bieber’s second screen performance. He previously appeared inTrue Jackson, VPas himself in 2009.

I Absolutely Love Justin Bieber’s Lowkey Cameos
Bieber Is Willing To Play Even The Smallest Role In Movies And TV Shows
I absolutely love just how many random movies and TV shows Justin Bieber has popped up in over the years. I was around the same age as Justin Bieber when he came on the scene, and as a punk rock-loving tween, Bieber’s ballads weren’t exactly my tempo. However, the fact he seemed to like movies and television enough to want to appear for even just a few minutes endeared him to me over the years.
From playing himself as a blink-and-you-’ll-miss-it alien inMen in Black III, to appearing as Canadian Superman in the little-seen shortRacist Superman, to getting himself killed in the beginning ofZoolander 2, Bieber appears to have no problem poking fun at himself.

Unlike someone like Matt Damon, whose cameos often include bigger parts that viewers won’t miss, Justin Bieber is willing to play anyone, no matter how small the part. He just likes being on sets, likeCSI, it seems.
