Summary
Kaiju No. 8just completed its first season, and it went out on an incredibly high note. The combination of stellar visuals and great character writing made for an entertaining anime from start to finish, and overall, it more than lived up to all the hype it had received even before it premiered.
Kaiju No. 8is one of the biggest anime to come out in years, and fortunately, it’s far from over. Immediately following the season 1 finale, it was announced thatKaiju No. 8season 2 was officially in production, with Crunchyroll even releasing a teaser trailer to go along with the announcement.

Details about season 2 are unknown beyond it being officially greenlit and that it will be returning to Crunchyroll once it finally drops, but other key details, like the series' release date, are being kept in the dark for now. With how greatKaiju No. 8season 1was,Kaiju No. 8season 2 is sure to be just as good, if not better.
When Will Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Premiere?
As previously stated, there are currently no details known aboutKaiju No. 8season 2 beyond it officially being greenlit. If season 2 were going to air in fall 2024, that likely would have been included in the season 2 announcement alongside a new key visual for the anime, and as such,Kaiju No. 8season 2 should be expected to premiere in 2025, at the earliest.
As for why things would take that long, it’s because of how many projects the anime studio, Production I.G, is currently involved with. With projects likeKinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc,Terminator Zero,BRZRKR, and the nextHaikyu!!film,Production I.G is likely too busyto get to work onKaiju No. 8season 2 immediately, so it shouldn’t be expected to come out anytime soon. Once Production I.G’s other projects are further along in production, there should be more time to work onKaiju No. 8season 2, and hopefully, it won’t be a long wait.

Anime series by Production I.G; based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto
Kaiju No. 8season 2 will continue where season 1 left off with Kafka no longer being primed for execution, if only so he can be used as a weapon. As shown in the season 2 trailer, though, things will be further complicated byKaiju No. 9 launching an attack against the Defense Force for unknown reasons, with the First Division also getting involved in the fight.
