Given that dangerous criminals are now looking for Gala’s family, not to mention her vanished husband, Longoria’s character is forced to leave the city with her aging mother and teenage daughter.
Land of Womencenters on Gala (Longoria), the well-off New Yorker whose life is turned upside down because her husband fails to repay his debts and angers the wrong people. Given that dangerous criminals are now looking for Gala’s family, not to mention her vanished husband, Longoria’s character is forced to leave the city with her aging mother and teenage daughter. She heads to her mother’s hometown in northern Spain, which her mother fled fifty years ago.
However, Gala’s attempts to start a new life and keep her identity hidden run into trouble once gossip quickly spreads, leading to dark secrets being unraveled and truths coming to life. It perhaps proves that the charming wine town Gala hoped for isn’t quite what she expected. The cast also includes veteran performer Carmen Maura as Gala’s mother Julia and newcomer Victoria Bazúa as the teenage daughter Kate, with Santiago Cabrera also starring.
