Summary
Sony revealed the first trailer forLEGO: Horizon Adventuresat Summer Game Fest 2024. The title is an adaptation of Guerrilla Games' acclaimed open-world series in the colorful LEGO aesthetic, following the release of LEGO’sHorizon-themed building sets. Unlike theHorizonseries, which launched as PlayStation exclusives before moving to PC,LEGO: Horizon Adventureswill be a multiplatform release at launch, coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, along with Nintendo Switch, bringing the series to Nintendo’s console for the first time.
LEGO: Horizon Adventures' reveal trailershowed an isometric perspective with gameplay more akin to the wider LEGO franchise thanHorizon, and while it didn’t give any real information surrounding the game’s story, all of the main features players have come to expect from theHorizonseries are still present.

Aloy can be seen combining futuristic technology with ancient weaponry to take on various mechanical dinosaur-esque beasts, with the iconic Thunderjaw seen rampaging through the world at one point. LEGO: Horizon Adventures Has Multiplayer Co-Op
Players Can Assume Control Of Aloy And Her Allies
DuringLEGO: Horizon Adventures' Summer Game Fest reveal, Aloy breaks the fourth wall to tell the trailer’s narrator, “I have friends, y’know?!” before a gameplay sequence showed her teaming up with Varl through various levels. APlayStation Blogthat accompanied the trailer confirmedplayers can play the game solo or with another player via couch or online co-op, with the game being designed for two-player gameplay without the need for split-screen.
As is often the case withLEGO games, the second player’s characterwill likely have slightly different skills and abilities. Usually these enable them to access new locations or unlock different items, either during the main story or a Free-Play version of a level that can be revisited later. While a very different direction for Aloy, a multiplayerHorizonexperience is one the mainline series could really benefit from, and being able to experience it here sets this title apart even further.

There’s no word on whether the Hot Dog Guy character in the trailer’s opening moments will be playable in LEGO: Horizon Adventures, but it would certainly make for some amusing sequences if he were.

Horizon Forbidden West ends in a major cliffhanger, leaving the door open for a potential third game to conclude Aloy’s post-apocalyptic saga.
A Horizon Multiplayer Title Has Been In The Works At Guerrilla Games
The Title Was Confirmed In December 2022
This would certainly setLEGO: Horizon Adventuresapart from the other Horizon titles, which were single-player experiences.Guerrilla Gamesconfirmed an online multiplayer addition to theHorizonseries during a December 2022 post on X, where the studio listed several open positions for a single-player, online, and external project. Despite this, there has been very little official information surrounding the multiplayer title, although there were some leaks of early alpha game footage back in January 2023.
The post-apocalyptic version of the United States seen in theHorizongames is so rich and immersive, and Guerrilla’s worldbuilding with thevarious tribes and charactersAloy interacts with on her journey has amassed an impressive cast that is ripe for a multiplayer title. Hopefully, there will be more information about the online multiplayer titles soon, but until then, fans of the series should certainly look forward to playing as some of their favorite supporting characters whenLEGO: Horizon Adventureslaunches during the 2024 holiday season.
