The following article contains mentions of suicide, rape, and spoilers from Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6, “Chapter Sixteen: Hell House”

Summary

Last time onPretty Little Liars: Summer School, Bloody Rose targeted Noa (who survived, thanks to Jen arriving at a suspiciously opportune moment), so, Imogen and Tabby were the only two who hadn’t endured one of the villain’s tests. However, that changed by the shocking end of episode 6. Throughout the first five episodes, the slasher teen drama series had been leading up to the moment the girls (and the audience) learnedwho Bloody Rose is inPretty Little Liars: Summer School. Thankfully, the writers didn’t keep them waiting any longer, as the villain’s identity was revealed in episode 6.

Although Bloody Rose’s identity might have been exposed, there could be more than one Bloody Rose inPretty Little Liars: Summer School(a popular fan theory), and she definitely has others working for her.

Aside from the Bloody Rose of it all,Pretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6, “Chapter Sixteen: Hell House,“primarily focused on Our Mother of Holy Grace’s mysterious production of “Redemption House.“The church’s cult-like tones and extreme religious views have been building sincePretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 1, and the sixth hour finally clued viewers in on what “Redemption House” was all about. It was ultimately much more horrifying than anyone could have expected. However, episode 6 also further explored the main characters' relationship drama, especially Noa, who had to choose between Shawn and Jen.

8Jen Stole Money From Shawn’s Family

Noa Figured Out Where Jen Got The $2,000

As some may recall, Jen’s father got her arrested for stealing Rolex watches from him inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 4.Noa asked Shawn for the $2,000 needed to bail Jen out of jail, and being the kind person he is, Shawn helped out his girlfriend. But when Shawn’s mother learned about the borrowed money and confronted Noa, Jen promised to pay Shawn back. Jen mysteriously gathered the $2,000 shortly afterward, and episode 6 informed the audience (and Noa) how she was able to come up with the money so quickly.

Jen explained that she had been on her way to theFriday the 13thmarathon when she coincidentally happened upon Noa running from the wild dog. There are no such things as coincidences inPretty Little Liars: Summer School, though.

Shawn’s family’s home was broken into, andcash and jewelry, all amounting to about $2,000, were stolen.Of course, Shawn’s mother instantly blamed Noa, who he defended, but Noa knew that Jen was behind the robbery. Towards the end ofPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6, Noa confronted Jen, who confessed to the crime. However, Jen quickly changed the subject to Noa being unable to decide between her and Shawn, seemingly deflecting from the fact that she stole $2,000 from Noa’s boyfriend’s family.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, the PLL spinoff, just repeated one of the franchise’s most frustrating storylines from the “A” mystery.

7Noa Couldn’t Choose Between Shawn & Jen

Noa Was Torn (But Seemingly Leaning Towards Jen)

As mentioned above, Noa struggled to pick between Shawn and Jen inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6.Jen suggested a throuple, but Noa immediately nixed the idea (all while Shawn had no clue that Noa and Jen had a romantic relationship). She asked her former (and present) lover for time to figure out what she wanted, which Jen granted for about a day.

Noa was obviously reluctant to leave Shawn for Jen because she didn’t want to hurt him (especially after he essentially cut off all ties with his mother to be with her). But it was evident thatNoa’s heart was pulling her towards Jen,and she even told Imogen, Tabby, Faran, and Mouse that she wanted to be with Jen at the pool’s Pride party. Then, Noa learned about Jen’s theft and backed off the ledge of jumping into a relationship with Jen. Only time will tell who Noa ultimately chooses to be within thePretty Little Liarsspinoff show.

6Wes Went Missing

Tabby Was Worried About Her Boss

Following his racist remarks inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 5, Wes was nowhere to be found throughout the sixth hour. He didn’t show up for work, which alarmed Tabby (who even hallucinated seeing his dead body in the Orpheum’s vents), whileChristian seemed happy that Wes was gone. After days of their boss missing, Tabby convinced Christian to come with her to Wes' house to check up on him, and what they found made them hate Wes even more.

Wes' door was suspiciously unlocked, so the young couple made their way into his home inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6. They didn’t Wes, but Tabby and Christian discovered thattheir boss was copying Christian and creating his own horror masks(which were much less impressive than Tabby’s love interest’s masks). Furious at Wes, the two characters decided he wasn’t worth it and left, leaving the mystery of where Wes went to be solved in a future episode.

5"Redemption House” Recreated The Liars' Past Traumas

The Church’s Play Was A Hell House

The second most surprising part ofPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6 was the truth behind “Redemption House” — Our Mother of Holy Grace’s play. The church had been preparing for the performance all season long, and it finally debuted in (the aptly named) “Chapter Sixteen: Hell House.“Our Mother of Holy Grace rented Imogen’s old house for the production, which irritatedBailee Madison’s TV character. But her frustrations would only grow once she walked through “Redemption House” with Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa.

“Redemption House” recreated the Liars' past traumas, including Chip raping Imogen and Tabby (but blaming the girls, of course), Noa’s mother buying drugs, Mouse’s interactions with Steve, and Imogen’s mother’s suicide.

The play’s intent was grounded in complete hate asit showed people getting punished for sins (like being gay or committing suicide).Essentially, it was a Hell house. “Redemption House” recreated the Liars' past traumas, including Chip raping Imogen and Tabby (but blaming the girls, of course), Noa’s mother buying drugs, Mouse’s interactions with Steve, and Imogen’s mother’s suicide.Kelly played Davie Adams in “Redemption House,“and she was stationed in Davie’s old bedroom with fake blood running down her arms, begging for forgiveness for the suicide. It was horrifying to watch and even more heartbreaking to see Imogen’s reaction.

4Greg Broke Up With Kelly

Faran & Greg Grew Closer

Once Faran found out what “Redemption House” was, she confronted Greg and asked him why he would be involved in something so heinous inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6. Greg wasn’t interested in the church, so, he was only doing it because Kelly was his girlfriend. However, once Greg saw the Hell house’s different rooms, he became quite apprehensive about the idea. The breaking point was Faran calling Greg and Henry out for portraying two closeted gay kids who were being punished for looking at pornography.Greg then quit “Redemption House” and broke up with Kelly(offscreen).

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa couldn’t help but slip in aRiverdaleEaster egg inPretty Little Liars: SummerSchoolepisode 6 — Greg mentioned to Faran that he has a gay cousin named Kevin (aka Kevin Keller, played by Casey Cott in the CW series) living in Riverdale.

Since the premiere, it seemed as ifPretty Little Liarsseason 2’s storywas slowly but surely pushing Faran and Greg together, and they got even closer in episode 6. Greg approached Faran at the Pride event to apologize for his actions and told her he wanted to be a better person. As Greg walked away, Faran’s gaze lingered on him, suggesting thatthe two may get together by thePretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolfinale. Both of them are now single, after all.

3Bloody Rose Killed Pastor Malachi

Pastor Malachi Was Officially Ruled Out As A Suspect

Bloody Rose claimed another victim inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6 — Pastor Malachi, played by Charlie Hewson inthePretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolcast. Following “Redemption House’s” opening night, Pastor Malachi went to the basement and discovered Bloody Rose waiting for him. At first, he thought she was a protester, but thenthe villain stabbed Pastor Malachi in the face, killing him instantly. Some previously theorized Pastor Malachi was involved with Bloody Rose, but fans can officially take him off their suspect boards.

2Imogen Threatened To Make Kelly’s Life A Living Hell

Imogen Was Furious After “Redemption House”

As anyone could have anticipated,Imogen was enraged after “Redemption House,” and she channeled all of her anger toward Kelly(and rightfully so). She stormed into her former friend’s house and confronted her in the prayer room. Imogen proved how menacing she could be when she had dinner with her father, his fiancée, andJohnny inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6, and she didn’t hold back while dealing with Kelly. Imogen promised she would make Kelly’s life hell because of how she portrayed her mother, and she tried to make good on that threat at episode 6’s end.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Soundtrack Guide - Every Song & When They Play

The Max slasher teen drama television series Pretty Little Liars returns with season 2, subtitled Summer School, and a soundtrack of new songs.

1Bloody Rose Is Imogen’s Mom

Imogen Was Attacked In Davie’s Old Bedroom

Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa decided to put on Christian’s horror masks andsneak into “Redemption House” to scare all the churchgoers inPretty Little Liars: Summer Schoolepisode 6.They wanted payback for the church taking advantage of their trauma to frighten people. So, the girls entered the house from the basement (where Bloody Rose recently murdered Pastor Malachi), while Johnny, Ash, Christian, and Greg waited outside with a camera to capture it all. However, when Imogen got to her mother’s room to face Kelly, all she found was a note from Bloody Rose that read:

“Sometimes a final girl doesn’t get a warning call.”

Imogen turned around to see Bloody Rose, who swiftly attacked her. The two fought while Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa were busy scaring everyone else out of the house. Bloody Rose started choking Imogen on the bed, so, the young teen began ripping the villain’s blood-soaked bandages off her face. Once Imogen saw her face, she let out a blood-curdling scream that alerted her friends, who raced up to the room. They found Imogen alone on the bed in shock, holding the torn gauze in her hands. When they asked who Bloody Rose was, Imogen said, “My mom.”

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School’s villainappears to be Davie Adams,Imogen’s dead mother. It’s unclear how Davie is alive, why she’s targeting the girls, if it’s actually her, or where Kelly went, but episode 7 likely holds many answers. Of course, two episodes remain, so, there are still more surprises to come, including whether Bloody Rose has any accomplices. Given that the villain knew the Liars would be at “Redemption House” that night, it’s more than likely that someone who knew about the plan is working with Bloody Rose inPretty Little Liars: Summer School.
