Though, of course, there are also other fragrances outside of these that are quiteunique in a way. One that comes to mind is a perfume made with the aroma of a newborn baby.

As reported bySora News, researchers at Kobe University in Japan have managed to make this kind of fragrance a reality.

So, how does this newborn baby scented perfume smell, exactly? Launched on August 20, 2025, the Poupon Pure perfume focuses on the scent of a baby’s head, with testersdescribingthe product to smell “gentle,” “natural,” and “refreshing like citrus.”

It took approximately six years to develop this product, which is made from a mix of different ingredients, including flowers and citrus fruits.

During the process of making it, researchers worked with doctors from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine’s affiliated hospital and pregnant and postpartum women to recreate samples of the scent from the heads of 20 newborn babies.

This led to them identifying 37 scent components. The recreated scent was then tested on 20 men and women, which showed that specific areas in the brain evoked a “pleasant feeling” and the desire to continue smelling it.
