Schedule 1 players warned of harmful mods containing dangerous malware

Schedule 1 players should uninstall these mods immediately as they’ve been reported to contain harmful malware.

Schedule 1 is already a fun game to begin with, considering its gameplay mechanics, content, and all the wild antics the community has been showing off in the early outings. After all, there are just so many hilarious things you’re able to do, whether that’sturning your customers into zombies, making them fly, and so on.

Of course, you’re able to even take things to a whole new level with the help of mods. Unlikeconsole commands, these generally give you much more freedom regarding what you want to customize or add to your playthrough.

That said, it’s been confirmed that some mods contain dangerous malware, which can put your PC at risk if you install them.

Two Schedule 1 mods reportedly contain dangerous malware

As seen in aReddit thread, the mods in question are the “Increased Stack Size Limit” and “Backpack Mod Reupload.”

According to the report, the first one was injected with trojan, a malware that can invade your computer and steal your personal data.

It turns out that the original creator who uploaded this mod had sold their account to another person, who was responsible for then adding this malware to it in a new version.

Following this announcement, the account on Nexus Mods was banned, and the file was also removed from the site. The same goes for the second reportedly malicious mod as well.

Players have been warned to immediately remove these mods if they’ve already installed them. Rest assured, though, that those who downloaded Increased Stack Size Limit before Friday, 15 July 2025, at 10:29PM are allegedly at no risk.

Nonetheless, it’s recommended that you run a virus scan using reputable antivirus software. Once that’s done, changing passwords is recommended as an extra precaution to avoid unwanted things.
